A Literal Friend

Offering offices openheartedly,
Obviating oppression observantly.
Protecting poor pals parochially,
Promoting playfellows persistently.
Quelling calamities quirkily,
Yet seeking no quid pro quo.
Relishing Rubicon-like realities resolutely,
Removing all rancour remarkably.
Sensing sadness sympathetically,
Shelving ‘self’ stoically.
Taking troubles trustingly,
Thwarting treachery tenaciously.
Unswerving upholders ungrudgingly,
Unburdening umbrage utterly.
